However, some complain that their SSDs freeze up now and then in Windows 10, 8, 7. Why does this happen? If you connect the disk to a wrong SATA port, then, it may not be able to perform in the best state. When AHCI mode is activated, the speed of access to files in memory devices will be drastically increased and the overall performance of your PC will be much enhanced.
In this content below, 4 most pragmatic methods are provided to help fix that issue. SATA ports are exclusively designed for data transfer. If the SSD is connected to a SATA II port, there is a high possibility that the reading and writing speed is incompatible and various problems and glitches could appear. Keep reading and learn how to make it. You are recommended booting Windows in safe mode the first time after the restart.
Here, I provided a way to check whether the disk is 4k aligned and a way to run 4k alignment. Check whether the SSD is 4K aligned. If so, the disk has been perfectly 4K aligned. NOT by windows defender. How satisfied are you with this reply? In reply to A. User's post on August 17, Thank you a lot. He was not running any type of storage device benchmark tool. We were in a discord call with him sharing his screen to me after he did a fresh boot and the only applications he had open were Discord, Origin, and Task Manager.
He would click on Origin, go to his game library and almost immediately his C: drive would start reading like the screenshot shows. I have the same drive that he does, and had never seen his issue before so we were stumped. He tried a wide variety of things to "fix" the problem and decided to share his experience with others. Only reason he did this was because we were finding a lot of forum posts with nearly identical descriptions of the problem, with no solution. He never stated that the his solutions would be a guarantee fix, he was sharing what helped him.
What surprises me the most out of this whole situation is that you guys immediately assume that the screenshot is manipulated since, I assume, you have never seen this unique issue before. You say that it is "insulting to post manipulated images and try to look like you're helping when you're intentionally giving bad information" when he did not do any of what you describe.
He offered a genuine screenshot with steps that helped him get to his solution. Now whether or not you will see through the arrogance or not, I don't know.
But what I really do not understand is this: why are you criticizing and berating his workaround if you are trying to help others?
Why aren't you expanding on his post, asking why he did what he did? I can understand reading through the post and not fully agreeing with it, but before you start throwing around the "fake news," why don't you ask the author to elaborate?

Dont have a sollution. But I will chime in that you all are jumping down this guys neck without any proof and nothing but your hunch he eddited the images. All that means is that the drive is spun up, and the controller is "in use" some how.
Something is causing the drive to be "active" but not letting it transfer Totally possible and likely totally a legit set of screen grabs. Anyways, thank you all for your feedback! Saved me tons of money. I also got money from AMD from a joint lawsuit, I ain't complaining Lemmy View Profile View Posts.
It turned out that my firmware needed to be updated. My computer kept freezing after 10 minutes. After updating the firmware it is running just fine. I thought I was going to have to reinstall Windows. Thank you so much. Thanks for the post, at least theres hope. Will give it a go tonight. I owned a Kingston V, and had the same problem with freezing which mainly occurs while streaming youtube videos.
I solved the issue and I think 1 year later the problem came back again, now I not only have problem streaming youtube videos but also using the computer.
When i stream videos, it hangs, the sound becomes blurry and a buzzing sound can be heard it is super loud. Other then using youtube, my PC has the occasional hang for s, which is kind of annoying, hoping after reading this i will solve this issue. I have the same problem like you, and i tried evrething and still the same problem, but the evan bigger problem now is that i removed the SSD and my hard drive acts the same, freezes like hell, and i tried to reset bios by default and clean installs of win 7 and 8.
Try to disable it in BIOS. I also have a Samsung I also have a PC that freezes once every day or two it locks up and I have to reboot it. When the computer is frozen, it is in a strange state. It still responds to pings on the network. I can move the mouse around if the screen was on when it messed up. Currently investigating the SSD. I was sure it was the graphics card for a while because of other things. You just might have saved me a lot of trouble here. Hello Guys; I also experienced the same problem when I replaced my old hard drive with ssd samsung evo, my laptop keeps crashing sometimes especially when I open alot of browsers and installing a software altogether.
I also experience freezing when I play an HD video with a size of 13 Gig. I experienced it for almost a month now untill I found this forum and yet there is no concrete solution to the problem yet. Others also say to downgrade the Video card driver. I changed it to advanced and disabled the hibernation mode and configured the virtual memory to 4. Update from my previous post. With IDE mode enabled, my machine lasted for 9 days before crashing again. I was so hopeful that it was fixed, but in the end, this was not the solution.
Turned out I had one or more bad RAM modules. MemTest86 confirmed this. I replaced them all and the problem seems to be resolved. The thing that fixed it for me was one of the following. I uninstalled everything Nvidia.
